Eyebrow lamination, a non invasive brow treatment

Updated: Sep 10, 2022

Are you a fan of full, defined, big, and editorial brows? Or a more subtle yet brushed-up look?

The brow lamination treatment might be what you are looking for.

Laminated brows? - What is it? Hearing about it for the first time?

Not knowing is scary. I feel you!

Most of the time, I get questions like: Is this process safe for my eyebrows? - As I am quite nervous about harsh chemicals.

Don't worry, I would confidently say that it is a safe relaxer for your eyebrows. It won't damage your hair or surrounding skin.

It's funny how we associate “lamination” with laminating the paper or floor.

No, no, no, we will be laminating your eyebrows by using special products (cruelty-free and vegan) that relax your hairs and shape them into the desired look.

People usually think that thick, bold eyebrows don't need any maintenance actually, they do, and this treatment will cut down on the amount of work that is required to keep them neat and beautiful.

Now, a bit more about this process.

The lamination procedure breaks down the bond of the hair and makes it pliable so we can move the laminated hairs into the desired direction that works the best for your aesthetic. Additionally, I often use a tint to colour your brows.

So how does that work?

The procedure consists of a few steps:

I like applying a barrier film-like cream around your eyebrows to protect your skin from irritation.

In the first step, the product is applied to your eyebrows. It breaks the bonds of your hairs gently, so they become more pliable. This step takes a few minutes (variable from a person to person).

After removing the product, a step-two solution is applied to your eyebrows. This product is responsible for locking brow hairs into place. Like the first step, it is left on your eyebrows for a few minutes.

Finally, a conditioning product is applied to your brows to keep them nourished.

The aftercare

The aftercare is very easy to follow;

  • Don't wet your eyebrows for 24-48 h.

  • Yes, you can wash your face and take a shower, but avoid splashing water on your eyebrows.

  • To remove your makeup, you can use a makeup remover with cotton pads, beauty clothes, or anything else to help yourself with.

  • After 24h at least, you can return to your normal routine.

  • I would advise using castor oil (after 24h post-procedure) to keep your eyebrows happy and healthy all the time.
